news: Advanced Materials Summer Research Program (REU) / 2021

We are happy to announce that the materials science research experience for undergraduates (REU) summer program in the Center for Optical Materials Science and Engineering Technologies (COMSET) at Clemson University is accepting applications for summer 2021.

This competitive REU program is sponsored by the National Science Foundation. Students will participate in a 10-week internship under the guidance of faculty mentors. REU students will also attend weekly seminars focused on professional development. At the end of the internship, students will be expected to prepare and present a research poster and prepare their application for the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program.

What to expect during the program:

  • Stay on Clemson’s campus with housing, parking and bus service throughout the area
  • $6,000 stipend
  • Opportunity to meet other students at Clemson doing summer programs from around the world; while working with Clemson students

  • Help with presentations and write-ups to create a poster to present at conferences
